Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal (PMP) has decided to include 25 percent CNG buses in the e-depot. Accordingly, CNG buses have been started from Bhekrainagar e-depot. Sometimes charging problems arise. At that time, CNG buses will be released.
PMP currently has a total of five e-depots, namely Pune Station, Bhekrainagar, Wagholi, Baner, and Nigdi. Currently, 490 e-buses operate from these depots. However, some e-buses are old. Also, due to charging problems, e-bus trips are delayed in the afternoon, and some trips are also suddenly canceled. This causes inconvenience to passengers. Therefore, PMP President Deepa Mudhol-Munde had instructed to include 25 percent CNG buses there to continue the services in the e-depot properly and operate from that place.
In the first phase, PMP has included 25 percent CNG buses in the e-depot at Bhekrainagar. The newly introduced CNG buses in the PMP fleet are included in this. After that, 25 percent CNG buses will also be introduced in Baner and Nigdi depots soon. After that, CNG buses will be introduced in other e-depots in phases. Due to this decision, if the e-buses are discontinued, there will be no problem for the passengers.
Two new e-depots to be opened
Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal's Hinjewadi Phase-2 and Charholi electric depots are ready with charging points. Both these depots will be opened soon, and PMP has started preparations for their inauguration. Therefore, the number of PMP's electric depots will now be seven.
