Assistant Police Constable Kisan Namdev Wadekar, 55, from the Talwade Traffic Department, died of a heart attack while on duty in Balewadi on Friday. He collapsed during a security review meeting ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit on Saturday.
Wadekar was serving as a reader to the police inspector in the Talwade Traffic Department. The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police had set up elaborate security arrangements for Shah’s visit, and a traffic management meeting was underway at Balewadi Stadium when Wadekar suffered a sudden heart attack. He was rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead before treatment could begin.

Wadekar had served in the Pimpri-Chinchwad police force for years, working at Chikhli and Nigdi police stations before his recent transfer to the Talwade Traffic Department. He was known as a calm, patient, and friendly officer. His sudden death has left the city’s police force in shock.
