Pune, Maharashtra (April 15, 2025): A jewellery shop in Pune’s Dhayari area was looted at gunpoint on Tuesday afternoon by three robbers who used a plastic pistol to threaten the shop owner. The incident took place at Shree Saraf Jewellery shop in Kalubai Chowk, Raikar Mala, Dhayari, around 3 p.m. CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral on social media. One clip shows the trio entering the shop wearing masks. Another camera captured them fleeing the scene on a two-wheeler.
According to regional media reports, the robbers entered the shop pretending to be customers. Once inside, one of the robbers demanded gold from the shop owner, Vishnu Sakharam Dahiwal, while the other two assisted. They stole 20 to 25 tolas of gold jewellery before fleeing the scene on a two-wheeler. When the owner attempted to resist, he was assaulted and struck with a toy pistol. Police investigation later confirmed that the weapon used in the robbery was a plastic pistol.

The law-and-order situation in Pune has been worsening in recent days, with rising incidents of theft, assault, and murder. This daylight robbery in a busy area has raised concerns about the safety of residents and shopkeepers.
Pune police are actively searching for the three robbers who managed to escape after the heist.
