Pune: Women, Men Thrash Liquor Shop Employee in Otur Over Bill Dispute; Incident Caught on CCTV (VIDEO)

A heated argument over a payment issue at a liquor shop in Otur turned violent as a group of six people, including two women, attacked a shop employee. The entire incident was captured on CCTV. The fight broke out between shop worker Shubham Singh and a customer, Dattatraya Phapale. The argument started over the payment for ten liquor bottles and quickly escalated. Phapale, along with four men and two women, confronted Singh inside the shop. The situation spiraled out of control as they began attacking him.


During the altercation, the women in the group also joined in. They not only assaulted Singh but also smashed several liquor bottles inside the shop. The CCTV footage shows chaos inside the store as the group attacked Singh while other customers watched in shock. After the incident, Singh filed a complaint at the Otur police station. The police registered a case against four men and two women involved in the assault. The video of the incident quickly spread on social media.

In another incident, two men were booked for allegedly harassing women and abusing a female bouncer at a pub in Pune’s Yerwada area. The accused, identified as Ganesh Dadabhau Ghavate, 34, of Shirur taluka, and Yash Kotwal of Koregaon Bhima, misbehaved with a woman on the dance floor. According to police, the two men accidentally bumped into a woman while dancing. The female bouncer intervened and asked them to move aside. Instead of complying, they verbally abused her and allegedly misbehaved with her.

Following a complaint from the 32-year-old bouncer, police booked the two men and issued them a preventive action notice. Assistant Police Inspector Vishal Takle is investigating the case.
