Boxer Saweety Boora assaulted her husband Deepak Hooda at the Police station in Hisar. A video of the assault is viral on social media now. They were at the police station as Boora filed a divorce case against Deepak Hooda for allegedly harassing her for dowry and assaulting her.

The video surfaced online soon after Saweety accused Hisar police of not taking any action against Hooda in the case that she filed in February 2025. Speaking with journalists about her case she said that despite filling a dowry complaint with Hisar Superintendent of Police, Shashank Kumar Sawan, no action was taken by the police against her husband who was also captain of the Indian Kabaddi Team in 2019 and is now a BJP Leader.

Boora said, “On March 11, I informed the Hisar SP that I no longer want to live with him. I don’t want a single penny from him—just a divorce and my belongings. I submitted a partial list of my belongings, but no action has been taken in over a month... I appeal to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and our Home Minister for justice. I initially kept quiet, hoping for a peaceful resolution.”

Saweety, her father Mahender Singh, and her maternal uncle Satyawan have been charged under Sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 126 (wrongful restraint), 351(3) (criminal intimidation by treating to cause death or grievous hurt), 296 (obscene act), and 3(5) (joint criminal liability) of the Bharatiya Nayaya Sanhita Act, according to Sub-inspector Ramesh Kumar of the Hisar Sadar police station.
