Madhya Pradesh: School Teacher Caught Serving Alcohol To Students, Suspended After Video Goes Viral (Watch)

An alarming video purportedly showing a government school teacher in the Katni region of Madhya Pradesh serving alcohol to young students went viral, leading to the suspension of the teacher. He taught at a government elementary school in the Barwara block of Khirhani village. The teacher, known as Lal Naveen Pratap Singh, was captured on camera pouring alcohol into cups and giving it to young boys, according to PTI reports. He may be heard telling a student to mix water before drinking at one point.

Dilip Kumar Yadav, the district collector for Katni, acted quickly after the video went viral and ordered District Education Officer OP Singh to look into it. On the same day, Singh was suspended under the MP Civil Services (Conduct) Rules for grave misconduct, encouraging underage alcohol consumption, and transgressing the teaching profession's ethical standards. According to the PTI reports, officials confirmed that the teacher was suspended, and they underscored that stringent measures will be taken to preserve the integrity of educational institutions.

The incident occurs only days after a government doctor in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, was charged with instructing a young kid on how to smoke cigarettes, purportedly to cure a cold. In the startling footage, the doctor, who is named Suresh Chandra, is seen putting a cigarette in the young child's mouth. The boy is approximately five years old.
