Ahead of the highly anticipated IPL 2025 clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), fans on social media have taken humour to the next level with a flood of funny memes and jokes featuring Travis Head and Rohit Sharma. The memes, especially trending on X (formerly Twitter), revolve around Travis Head's consistent dominance over teams wearing blue jerseys—most notably Rohit Sharma’s teams, whether it's MI in the IPL or Team India in international cricket.
Head’s record speaks for itself. He scored 163 in the WTC Final against India, followed by a match-winning 137 in the 2023 ODI World Cup final in Ahmedabad. In the T20 World Cup Super 8s, Head smashed 76 off 43 balls before being dismissed — a key moment that helped India eventually win that game. Most recently, Head topped the run charts in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with 448 runs in 9 innings, playing a crucial role in Australia’s 3-1 series win over India.
Mumbai Indians Win Toss, Elect to Bowl First Against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede
Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match No. 33 of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.
Pandya said the decision was based on the dew factor, which has played a significant role in previous matches at the venue. “We are going to bowl first. I think it is a lot to do with the dew. Last night there was dew and always at the Wankhede it is better to bat second,” Pandya said at the toss.
Mumbai made no changes to their playing XI. Pandya also addressed concerns over Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness. “He is fine. We don’t need to worry about Jasprit Bumrah. If he’s not fit, he wouldn’t have been here,” he said.
Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins also named an unchanged side. Speaking at the toss, Cummins said, “That’s fine. It looks a pretty good wicket. Same side. I think Abhi is still looking at the highlights,” he joked, referring to Abhishek Sharma’s explosive knock in the last game. Cummins added that reverse swing was unlikely to be a factor due to the dew. “It’s tough to get reverse swing in these venues, especially with the dew coming in,” he said.
Both teams come into this clash with two wins from six games. Mumbai Indians are placed seventh in the table with a positive net run rate of +0.104. Sunrisers Hyderabad are ninth with a net run rate of -1.245 after four heavy defeats.
In their last match, Mumbai edged past Delhi Capitals by 12 runs after pulling off three run-outs in the 19th over. Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down a record target of 246 against Punjab Kings, powered by Abhishek Sharma’s 141 off 55 balls — the highest individual score by an Indian in IPL history.
