While Facebook was down since the morning, another Meta-owned platform, Instagram, had faced issues the previous night (February 26). Many users also took to social media to report the Instagram outage. However, Instagram services were restored shortly thereafter.
Facebook services were finally restored around 8:30 a.m. after being unavailable for approximately an hour. Users can now access the website and log in, while mobile services have also resumed. However, Meta has not yet given an official statement regarding the cause of the global outage.
