The body of an unidentified man with several injuries has been found in Maharashtra's Thane district, with police suspecting it to be a case of murder. A passerby spotted the body at an open plot in the Bhadwad area of Bhiwandi town at around 11.30 am on Monday, April 14, reported news agency PTI, quoting a police official from Shanti Nagar police station.
After being alerted, the police went to the spot and sent the body to a government hospital for postmortem. The deceased had severe injuries on the head, neck, chest and abdomen, apparently caused by repeated stone attacks. “As of now, the identity of the deceased and the motive behind the killing remain unknown,” the official said. The police have registered a case against unidentified persons on charges of murder.
Earlier, in February this year, a mining infant's body was found in a septic tank near his house in the Bhadwad area of Bhiwandi in the district, reported PTI. Ayansh Amarjeet Jaiswal went missing while playing outside his house on February 14, following which a case of kidnapping was registered at Shantinagar Police Station, an official said.
His body was found in the open septic tank of a public toilet located near his house. The body was sent for autopsy and the police were investigating if he fell into the tank accidentally or foul play was involved.
