Aurangabad, June 11:The Mahavikas Aghadi government robbed farmers and turned private insurance companies wealthy. Due to change in insurance norms, reduction in threshold production, only 15 lakh farmers out of 1.38 crore in the state became eligible for crop insurance during the last kharif season. However, the Shiv Sena had launched a protest against these companies. Now for Kharif 2020, the Uddhav Thackeray government has changed the criteria for the benefit of insurance companies. Insurance companies have joined hands with the agriculture department to pay compensation of Rs 974 crore to only 15 lakh farmers.
