They put it into their work," added the actress, who made headlines when she revealed that she got just more than 10 per cent of what her "All the Money in the World" co-star Mark Wahlberg made for the 2017 film."Fosse/Verdon", which narrates story of director-choreographer Bob Fosse ( Sam Rockwell) and actress-dancer Gwen Verdon's troubled personal and professional relationship.Williams went on to stress the need for women to be paid equally."The next time a woman and especially a woman of colour, because she stands to make 52 cents on the dollar compared to her white male counterparts tells you what she needs in order to do her job, listen to her, believe her, because one day she might stand in front of you and say thank you for allowing her to succeed because of her workplace environment and not in spite of it," she said.Williams fought with Amy Adams ("Sharp Objects"), Patricia Arquette ("Escape at Dannemora"), Aunjanue Ellis ("When They See Us"), Joey King ("The Act") and Niecy Nash ("When They See Us") for the honour.( With inputs from IANS )
