Nagpur, May 27There is a huge shortage of injections for mucomycosis. The production of Amphotericin B injection, which is used to prevent this disease, has started in Wardha. The company presented the injection samples to union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday.These injections will be distributed by the district collector from Monday. Considering the shortage of Amphotericin B injections, steps were taken to produce it in Wardha.On May 14, Wardha’s Genetek Life Sciences Private Limited received approval from the Food and Drug Administration of Government of Maharashtra to manufacture Amphotericin B injections. If raw material becomes available, the company will manufacture 20,000 injections per day. These injections will be made available at a lower price. The incidence of mucormycosis is on the rise. This is beneficial for whole of Maharashtra. If raw materials are available, the production of these injections will also increase and there will be no shortage, said Dr Kshirsagar of Genetek Life Sciences.
