Former Director of the company, Kanthi Dutt stated in a recent interview that there are no legal complaints filed against the company or it’s founders in any capacity, condemning the spreading false news. SustainKart was India’s largest e-commerce marketplace for ecofriendly products, cofounded by Shilpa Reddy & Kanthi Dutt in 2020. The venture was later joined by Samantha Ruth Prabhu as an investor and has scaled to over 1500 brands on the platform with over 2 Lakh SKUs before shutting down in August 2023.Dutt clarified that the founders have decided to shut the business before wasting 10s of millions of dollars in the same of sustainability with utmost respect for investor’s money. “I followed a wise man's suggestion: Pull the plug before it's too late (too much of a waste)", Dutt said. Shilpa Reddy departed from SustainKart, citing a misalignment with the start-up practices and her personal ethics. She has since launched the Raising Shakthi Foundation, focusing on empowering women and promoting sustainable living.Kanthi Dutt has embarked on a new venture, Tritiyaa Fine Jewellery, collaborating with Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra. The brand is gaining attention for its unique designs and commitment to sustainability.Both founders have transitioned to new projects, reflecting their dedication to sustainability and ethical business practices.
