Television host Wendy Williams' son Kevin Hunter Jr. was arrested after allegedly getting into a fight with his father and TV producer Kevin Hunter.A spokeswoman for the Ethics County Prosecutor's Office in New Jersey told People on Wednesday that the incident took place at 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday night in West Orange.According to the spokeswoman, he was charged with simple assault following the fight in West Orange. He was processed and later released by West Orange Police Department the same evening and was not taken to county jail.On Wednesday, TMZ had reported that Williams' husband and their son got into a physical altercation that resulted in the cops being called."I love my son very much and I will not be pursuing this matter legally. Things are not always how they appear," Hunter said in a statement to TMZ.According to TMZ, Williams dropped her 18-year-old son off at her house, not knowing Hunter was there. Although she planned to return shortly, Kevin Jr. and Hunter made a quick trip to a nearby store in the meantime.While standing in the parking lot of the store, the two got into an argument about his divorce from Williams. Hunter claimed Williams was attempting to "brainwash" their son, reported TMZ.The fight escalated, with Hunter reportedly putting his son in a headlock and Kevin Jr. fought back by punching his father in the face.A source told People that Hunter was actually trying to calm his son down by placing him in the headlock.Although Hunter told TMZ that he did not plan to press charges against his son, police told the outlet they were investigating "an incident" between the two.Williams filed for divorce from her estranged husband in April. The news about their separation came amid reports that he had allegedly fathered a child with his mistress. Hunter broke his silence on the breakup in a statement to People, addressing the cheating scandal and admitting he was "not proud of my recent actions."According to a source, they have "had zero contact" since then and Williams "has nothing to say to him."( With inputs from ANI )
