Aurangabad, May 19:From March 15 2020 to April 30 2021, around 1,24 lakh corona patients were found in Aurangabad district. However, only 14,430 that is 11.61 per cent patients received free treatment under Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY). The highest number of patients is in GMCH. On the contrary, 53,371 patients with diseases other than covid were treated free of cost under the scheme.Along with government agencies, private hospitals are also working day and night for the treatment of coronavirus. The government decided to provide free treatment to corona victims in government and private hospitals under MJPJAY. Its implementation was also started from May 23. But statistics show that many patients do not benefit from this scheme. In Aurangabad district, 14,430 corona patients got the benefit of this scheme during the year, informed the officials. The treatment cost more in private hospitals. At present, relatives of patients have to pay lakhs of rupees for treatment in many private hospitals. On the contrary, the officials from private hospitals said that there are many difficulties with this scheme, many changes are required. The hospitals have informed the district administration about this from time to time. Covid patients can be admitted under 20 treatment plans. Packages ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 85,000 are available in the scheme. If the corona patient has difficulty breathing and his oxygen level is below 94 per cent and he needs to be given oxygen from outside, he can be treated in a package of Rs 20,000. Other packages can be taken if the patient needs a ventilator.How to register:A person can avail the health benefits under this scheme by visiting the nearest hospital that is registered with this scheme. Arogyamitra, who is the representative of the scheme facilitates in getting the health card. Ration card and identity card are required for registration. Many do not have the documents available, however they can avail the benefits through the emergency telephonic information system.People can complainIf treatment under the scheme is not provided by the registered hospital, a complaint can be lodged with the Arogyamitra of the scheme. If a patient is on oxygen, if a RTPCR positive report is received, a package of at least Rs 20,000 can be taken, said district coordinator of MJPJAY Dr Milind Joshi.
