Pooja Hegde, known for confidently exploring herself across films in the South and Hindi belt, is gearing up for her next Tamil film 'Retro'. Stone Bench films, the film's production firm recently unveiled deets of 'Retro', and the reason behind casting Pooja Hegde as the film's leading heroine. The production house shared how the actress was chosen for the role, and how she was ready to take on the challenge of dubbing for her role. Pooja Hegde likes to go all out with each of her projects, and with 'Retro' too, she did not fail to leave any stone unturned to serve her best. The actress is dubbing in her own voice for the first time in a regional Tamil film, shedding light on her dedication and hard work to be fully immersed in her project. “When director Karthik Subbaraj was searching for a heroine, multiple names were suggested, but it was Pooja Hegde who caught everyone’s attention. After seeing her, Pandiyaa himself confirmed, ‘This is the girl we’ve been looking for!’. The only concern was whether she could deliver dialogues fluently in Tamil. There were plenty of fun moments on set, with the team confusing her with tougher Tamil words.”‘ Retro’ features Suriya and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, and they are joined by Malayalam actors Joju George and Jayaram and Tamil actor Karunakaran. The film is poised to be high on action and is scheduled to land on the big screens on May 1.
