Nagpur, Oct 14A 11-year-old girl was washed away in Pili river after she fell down from a temporary bridge in Vandevi Nagar.The incident took place on Wednesday morning at 11.15 am. The girl who was washed away has not been found yet.The administration has started search operation for missing girl. Yashodhara Nagar police has registered a case and started investigation.The name of girl is Saleha Muskan Saleem Ansari (11). Muskan, resient of Lane No. 3, Sangam Nagar in Sangam Nagar, and her sister Aliya had gone to meet mother Shafikunnisa. Both sisters were happy as mother gave them money. They were returning home on an iron bridge adjacent to main bridge in Vandevi Nagar. Saleha was walking behind elder sister. Sudenly, Saleha lost balance and fell into Pili river. On hearing noise falling into river, nearby people gather. Two jumped into river to save her. But the duo could not locate her was water current was strong. The water is blocked as work of main bridge in Vandevi Nagar is blocked. But water was not blocked on Wednesday due to which river flow was more. The father of girl is vegetable seller Saleem Ahmad Ansari. This incident has pushed his family into deep grief.People risking their lives while crossing roadPeople in Wanjra, Majri and nearby area risk their lives and cross road from last two years. The temporary bridge made hear is proving fatal. Only single pipes have been installed on both sides of bridge from which girl fell down. There is danger of losing balance of and falling into river. But administration is neglecting this issue. The Vandevinagar bridge is being constructed on Pili river through highway fund of Central government. The administration had assured that this work will be constructed in June 2020. But the work fo this bridge is still incomplete.Bridge in bad shapeThe girl is being searched by police administration and fire brigade. Offence will be lodged after girl is found.
