The Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) has officially declared that Eid Al-Fitr 2025 will be celebrated on Monday, March 31. The council said that the Shawwal 1446 AH crescent moon will be born on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 9.57 PM Sydney time (Australia local time) and 6.57 PM Perth time, both occurring after sunset, making the moon invisible before the evening prayers (Maghrib). In Perth, the new moon will be born on the same day at 6:57 PM AWST, also after sunset. This is a method that has been adopted by many prominent and reputable global scholarly councils," said the council further in the post.Therefore, Eid celebrations will take place across Australia on Monday, March 31, marking the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal.
