Actor Mac Mohan had made an impression on the audience with his legendry role as Sambha in Ramesh Sippy’s 1975 the blockbuster film Sholay. After playing this role, he came to be known as Sambha. This one dialogue made him popular all over the world.You will be shocked to know that Mac Mohan had traveled 27 times from Mumbai to Bangalore to shoot this one dialogue. Initially his role in the film was big. But after editing the movie, he had only one dialogue.Mac Mohan was very disappointed to see the movie after editing. "I started crying when I saw the movie," he said in an interview. I went directly to director Ramesh Sippy and asked him why I had such a small role. Delete that alo if you want. Then he said that if the movie is a hit, the world will know you by the name of Samba and that's what happened.Mack Mohan made his debut in Hindi Cineindustry in 1964. He acted in around 218 films in a career spanning 46 yearsIn November 2009, a day before he could start the shooting for Ashwini Dheer’s Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?, he was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after his health deteriorated. He had a tumour in the right lung and died of lung cancer on May 10, 2010.Mac Mohan gave the legendary line from Sholay, “poore pachaas hazaar,” after 27 retakes.He remained a popular villain through the 1970s and 1980s with blockbusters like Don, Karz, Satte Pe Satta, Zanjeer, Rafoo Chakkar, Shaan, Khoon Pasina and Majboor.
