Aurangabad, May 4:Vice-chancellor of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) Dr Pramod Yeole said that the Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Center would be set up on the campus within one month to provide skilled manpower to industries.The university will receive a Rs 1.50 crore fund under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).The university implemented various initiatives for skills development during the last two years. Bamu has made a provision of Rs 1 crore in the current year’s budget for such type courses.Also, the BAMU administration submitted the proposal of ‘Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Center’ to Aurangabad Electricals company. The Board of Directors of the company chaired by its vice-president Soumen Majumdar, in their recent meeting, approved the proposal.A delegation of the company held a meeting with the VC on Monday and handed over the letter to the administration.Soumen Majumdar, Dean of Commerce and Management Science faculty Dr Walmik Sarwade and others, were present.The university and the company will sign a memorandum of understanding. The company will pay Rs 80 lakh in the first year while Rs 35 lakh for each year (two years).The company officers, along with VC visited the building for the centre. Soumen Majumdar said that the proposal of the university is very much favourable for the industrial sector. “The centre which will help youths from Marathwada for employment and self-employment will commence soon,” he added. VC Dr Yeole said that it is a matter of joy that ‘Industry, University and Society’ started working together.
