Aurangabad, March 21:The Corona patients with mild symptoms will be shifted from the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) to the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Covid Care Centres (CCC). However, the relatives of the patients have demanded that the patients should be kept in home quarantine instead of the CCC during a meeting chaired by the district collector Sunil Chavan on Sunday.Acting dean, Dr Varsha Rote, Dr Kailas Zine, Dr Suresh Harbade, Dr Jyoti Irawane – Bajaj, Dr Meenakshi Bhattacharya, Dr Amol Joshi and others were present.Chavan took review of shifting the patients to the CCC and issued several directives in this regard. He said, that the severe patients should get treatment at GMCH and the administration will provide all the assistance in this regard, he said.A counseling cell has been established at the GMCH where the relatives of the patients were counseled on Sunday. The counseling committee included Dr Syed Ashfaq, Dr Mohammad Laik, Dr Archana Kalyankar, Dr Bina Gadiya, Dr Priya Pargude, Dr Sunita Aghade, Nilesh Khotkar, Shalaka Vyavhare.There are 339 serious patients and 197 with mild symptoms presently in the GMCH. The AMC conducted 2,724 Corona tests on Sunday, in which 294 people were found positive. The swab samples of 1803 residents have been sent for testing and their reports will be received on Monday morning. In all, 130 passengers were tested at the Railway Station and Airport on Sunday and eight were found positive, the administration informed.
